Are there places in Texas to hunt for treasure?

I've been watching the travel channel cash and treasure show, and have not yet seen digging in Texas. Me wondering if anyone knew of any place in Texas that could search for the treasure?

Over Padre Island, but be careful not to make any treasure hunt on state property. It is protected. During the days when Spain was the looting of gold and silver from Mexico and Central America, the treasure-laden ships often sank in storms off the coast of Texas. Today, after a storm, the occasional coin or relic is situated on the beaches of Padre Island. Good hunting!
