As a trash to treasure hunter I am always in search of a negotiation usually from other trash that can become a treasure and my last search has been for a coffee table. I am currently looking for something functional and modern, yet profitable.

Where I live there are several malls and thrift stores consignment I have found great finds. Through my search for a new coffee table, or rather as I knew, I was struck with the different things can be used as a coffee table.

I currently live in a country-style house, but I have dark brown leather sofas in my family room and it was a practical option because I have two small children. The couches are easy to clean when they have accidents. Currently in the family room, we have a table Large brown leather square that has been very functional.

However, the leather, because all my furniture is dark and the style I was looking for more house field, I would find something a little lighter in color and is not as bulky. I need something that can add a little extra touch of color in the room, but has be practical with two small children. We also want our coffee table to be used for eating while watching television, besides being used to support the feet and relax.

During my search for a new coffee table, I was surprised at some of the big ideas that are used for furniture. In a shops, I saw that someone had taken a couple of square feet and stools upholstered in beautiful fabric. They had pushed together in front of a sofa and was being used as a coffee table. He had placed a TV tray in the top of the stool to be used if you want to place food or drink in them or to prop your feet up. This idea is a creative way to allow more seating too.

Another idea would be to use an old chest as a coffee table. This allows storage in the chest as well as a surface that can be used to set food and drink or to prop your feet. Old trunks are often found in sales of goods, thrift shops and antique centers. However, many times, you can find a chest that are worn or older and need extra care at a great price age and for me it really adds charm. However, furniture stores also sell new boxes that are used as a coffee table.

Plant stands and pots can serve as support for a large piece of wood, an old door, a piece of glass or window that can be used to create a coffee table to be a topic of conversation for guests. The pots can be used to right or vice versa. If used to right that could put many things in them some added flare.

In search of a coffee table or any kind of furniture do not rush. Take your time, shop around, see what's available and pick up some ideas. There are many great options, which are not new and offer great deals. If you see something in a furniture store many times you can recreate the same look of a thrift store or classified ads, along with a little creativity.
