Can you help me find info. about a coin?
I bought a coin at a yard sale. I don’t collect coins but this one caught my eye. It is large about the size of a coffee mug. It says Welcome to Tahara Japan. It is numbered and is in a purple case. I was wondering on the value of the coin. If anyone can help please answer and email me. If you need further info on the coin please email. Thank you so much.
Based on your description, it’s most likely a souvenir or tourist medal from the central Japanese city of Tahara. Either given to someone as a gift or bought as a souvenir from trip. There’s virtually no collector base for this kind of item, so the value is, if the medal is made of precious metal then at least bullion, else it’s worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
