metal detector coils

"There is no" hunting metal detecting sites! In 39 years of hunting for coins, relics and jewelry with metal detectors, I have continued to find objects value on sites that I've hunted dozens of times. However, I am fully convinced that no area is completed all the objectives of hunting, or removed by the current capacity Limited metal detectors. The main obstacle or dilemma in the game-site is masking.

Masking is not a new concept in the field of detection metals, but probably one of the least known and least understood topics in the hobby. I found hiding in early 1970 when added to discriminate to the detectors and garden built my first test to practice in the types of variables introduced by signs of discrimination. Using discrimination high to get rid of annoying pop tops and tabs, I noted that increases in some signs were simple, but it was all right. Putting good targets next to garbage goals, I realized that standard and larger coils produced unusual signs or none at all, and I'm missing good targets. I got 441 Fisher unity of all metals and can obtain readings in most of the good goals that were masked by the eyelashes, pencil erasers, wraps gum and shot him money I had in my test garden. I decided to try masking by going to a place that always was a favorite of some older owners. The Fisher 441 was all a big metal detector with exceptional depth for the period of time. I have marked-off space and hunted using three different patterns and find lots of elements unwanted and about 40 coins. I cleaned the area so well that I called my hunted site. I do not go back there again for nearly 15 years, believing it has all the good that were lost there. I cleaned any of my front-line detectors to receive signals of any kind. I thought I had licked the problem of masking. I was recommending to all our club members to use little or no discrimination and / or use a small coil to move through the masking.

In the mid '80s, I discovered the second type of masking. This threat is known as "silent" masking. Silent Masking works this way. Reporting a good target as a silver coin of three to eight inches deep. Use the medal so everyone, and discrimination to confirm the signal. Now take a very small staple or lead shot or steel and bury it in the top of the dime in about an inch deep. This Article the mask of the dime in the way of discrimination and even move the item up to four inches from the center of the dime, will produce mask or cause the dime to read as a shooter. Then bury the staple or throw ball three inches deep on the dime cents and something amazing happens. There will be complete silence and even changing the way all metal will only sound vibration as soil minerals. The is happening here is called inductive coupling. Eletromagnetic power coil of small samples of the waste issue electromagntic produce a halo around he. The signal strength is very small and probably not come to the dime. Even if he makes the sign of a bug in the way back when it hits the halo again.

What does this really mean to detectorist? Probably only the fields of about 25% of all the objectives of coins in schools, stadiums, and the ball has been recovered due to the silence masking mask and deep depths. No metal detector on the market today can see through iron. I also showed my assumption that any site is completely game-out. I took my Fisher Boasting a pulse induction detector, and returned to visit my site out hunting. I dug more than 300 goals, including five ancient coins that were masked by this large amount of garbage hidden any of my conventional locators could even get a signal. Please do not go buy a PI detector for use as a handle of the coin. Sixty to a probability of garbage to the currencies be increased considerably in most places more than 100 to 1 odds. Remember, I had cleaned or disinfected this area with my conventional detectors more than 15 years earlier. These large detectors are not affected by the mineralization or the mean between the detector and the target. Performance will not change the fact detect through air, water, mud, sand or solid coral. However, using an IP as a coin shooter could shoot down a very long time as you dig really inches deep, and every few. Here's to "diggin it"! Larry
