sunken treasure poems
Between the Devil and Deep Blue?

A poem I wrote yesterday. Thanks for reading.

Between the Devil and Deep Blue

Sunken ships and hidden treasures
Chested for a moment’s pleasure
Locked away like castoff whore
Patina on the ocean floor

Til whirlpool rousts deep sentiment
And cleaves the vices once hell bent
Flaunting deceit with murky view
Between the devil and deep blue

Clear the dregs and purge the soul
Corpus scourged as henchman’s toll
Siren song a deathly crown
Cleansing seas as old salts drown

Carried ashore in tide’s spindrift
Beachcombers join the daily sift
And held aloft as damning hue
Between the devil and deep blue
