Autumn turns out to be the most fruitful time of year, especially for Big Fish Games Studios, who at this time of year usually release the sequels to the most popular games with the casual game community – MCF and Hidden Expedition.Today we’re talking about the latest series of the Hidden Expedition game franchise released last week – Hidden Expedition – Devil’s Triangle. As you probably understood from the game title, the action of the latest game takes place at Bermuda Triangle, a place covered with mysteries.

BASIC INFORMATION ABOUT THE GAME. Hidden Expedition: Devil’s Triangle is developed by Big Fish Games Studios and released exclusively at BigFishGames.com on October 24. The game blends the elements of hidden object, point-and-click genres with mini-puzzles and features state-of-art visuals and sound. So far the game is available for PC as a free trial version.

GAME LEGEND. According to the game legend, you join Hidden Expedition team on their quest aimed at searching the team member who disappeared somewhere around the Bermuda Triangle. But on your way to Bermuda islands, your submarine is attacked by pirates who steal biocoil – a vital part of the submarine. In search of it, you land on a Bermuda island and find yourself in the surreal world that has no connection with the XXI century. You’re going to meet people who are literally lost in time – after landing here in 1920-ties and even in the XVI century.

There’s no need going further in details, otherwise I’ll spoil the fun of the game. Let’s just talk about the game itself and what makes this sequel so special.

GRAPHICS. So, every new game from Big Fish Games Studios is not just another surprise for the game fans, but a huge step ahead for the casual game industry. Though Hidden Expedition: Devil’s Triangle does not introduce anything new to the hidden object genre, but it can be called a real chef d’oeuvre in terms of graphics and game story…

What you’re going to see is a variety of magical natural landscapes of Bermudas, with crashed submarines and planes lying among the blossoming exotic flowers. This is how we all imagine Bermudas, don’t we? With every chapter, you will find yourself in a new world with its own air and flavor…

The first chapter takes you to the submarine, where you’ll travel between different departments as you solve hidden object and point-and-click tasks. Imagine you’ll have to fix the broken engine parts, get an access to the blocked department, find the codes and crack challenging mini-puzzles.

The second chapter will please your eyes with the natural beauty of Bermudas.

But as you advance in your search on the island, and visit the home of Gideon, a passionate inventor and island researcher, who’s been on an island since the XVIIth century, you will get into a very particular epoch – Renaissance, which means you’ll see posh interiors and architecture, and play tricky mini-puzzles involving the drawings of Leonardo Da Vinci, and collect bizarre devices.

Due to such radical change of environment, a player is unlikely to get bored of the game scenes.

Luckily, the game has no timer, so you can enjoy your stay at the magical worlds as long as you want.

As far as hidden object levels are concerned, they look very typical. A player is to search for the hidden objects on a list. After the list is completed, the player will have to accomplish the final task, after which an inventory item will be revealed. An inventory item shall be used for completing point-and-click tasks. A great help in hidden object levels is visualization mirror. Click on an item on a list – and you’ll see its silhouette inside a small mirror at the bottom left of the screen.

And of course, you can use hints. Originally, a player is given 4 hints. If a player runs out of hints – all they have to do is wait for a hint to recharge!

However, the biggest help to me was the travelogue – a log of all the adventures you go through. It has the profiles of all the characters you meet on your way. Besides, it’s the treasure book where all of your past adventures, scenes and observations are recorded. If you’re lost and have no clue on what to do – consult your travelogue and check out your current objectives. If you’ve missed on some hidden place – you’ll see a blank page on your travelogue. So, it’s necessary to take your time to read the journal. This would be my key tip for all who start playing the game.

So, if you’re looking for adventure and quick change of scenes in your life, challenging puzzles and mystery – Hidden Expedition: Devil’s Triangle might be what you want! Happy hidden object hunting!
