Why do dogs bury their cooked or raw bones?

I have a “Bull Mastiff,”that I rescued over a year ago. She loves to bury all her bones/treats.

I hope you are NOT giving her cooked bones!

Its an old instinct.. some species of wild canid do bury things to “save them for later”.. or bury to hide from other predators that might steal it.

I remember seeing a documentary about an arctic wolf or fox doing this.. it was like nature’s freezer when he buried his meat in the frozen ground.
