Finding Treasure Hoards

How would you go about solving this problem?

a standard backpack is approximately 30cm x 30cm x 40cm. supposed you find a hoard of pure gold while treasure hunting in the wilderness. how much mass would your backpack hold if you filled it with gold? an average student has a mass of 70 kg. how do these values compare?

i don’t really understand what it’s asking. how do we find the mass the backpack can hold if they only gave us the volume?

thanks for your help!! :>

The density of gold is 19 g/cm^3. Volume of the backpack is 36,000 cm^3.

Therefore,
19 g/cm^3 * 36,000 cm^3 = 6.84×10^5 g = 684 kg.

684 kg / 70 kg = 9.77,

so the backpack would weigh 9.77 times more.
