Anyone know of a nice quiet smaller and not so public and commercialized north east beach?

We went to Topsail Beach NC last month and loved it. Not a lot of people, very friendly and smaller. We have no small kids. Just a couple of adults wanting to find some hidden treasure vacation spots. Love the small town feel with the beach at the front door.
We live in Ohio, so we would like to try above NC. Thanks!!!

Plum Island in Newbury/Newburyport Ma. 45 minutes north of Boston Ma. Very quiet but close to historic Newburyport Ma ( the birth place of the US Coast Guard).
