Sunken Treasure… claims of ownership.?

I assume most of you saw the story about the treasure of gold and silver that was recovered from the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean last week. It’s estimated value is over $500,000,000.00

Now, the Spanish are making noise that they might sue to get it back. Who do they think they’re kidding? The Conquistadors raped and murdered their way from one end of South America to the other in order to lay their grubby hands on every ounce of gold and silver on the continent.

What moral or legal claim could they have to this treasure?

PS. Did you know that “average man” Senator John Edwards owns a piece of this pie? He’s the Senior adviser and a major investor in an investment company that owns 10% of the company that found the treasure.

I agree. What a load of crap. If its old and has been there that long I say it belongs to the finder who spent their time and money to find it.
