Finding Treasures In Texas
What’s the Fishing Forecast/Treasure hunting for Port Aransas Texas?
I’m going to be heading out there next week. To the beach and to go fishing, and metal detecting. What is being caught the most over there and where? Do you have any good spots being recommended. Any in rockport? I know giving up your fishing spot is like a magician telling how a magic trick is done. Are there any spanish maceral runs? I remember one year there was and we caught 15 of them. Just let me know.
Also is there any coin shops? Record Stores? or Have you found any Old money at the beaches? And where? I only know of the beach that runs at the end of the island. I dont know the name, all i know is the UT marine Science thing is there.
Let me know
Thanks, In Advance.
Adam
*Lastly do you know any good Places to eat? I know there is a Mexican resturant, and that’s mainly it.
Red Drum and Sea Trout are usually running there. But their size and numbers have been dropping over the past few years. You can also usually pick up some gaff back catfish if you set up a line to fish the bottom. Another thing that is usually good there is crabbing. Park your boat close to the shallows right before the tide changes. Then cast out with a bait fish tied to the end of your line. Reel it in slowly, and have somebody standing by with a net. You can catch several dozen in an hour or two that way. Don’t forget you need a license. The Walmarts down there carry them. Good luck, and have fun.
